About
My name is Erin Mauldin and I'm an educator in the state of Texas. I have been in education for 16 years and worked with children for over 24. I majored in Elementary Education at University of North Texas and worked in Lewisville ISD as a 3rd grade teacher and gifted education coordinator for K-5. I stayed home and homeschooled my two children for 3 years, moved abroad to Singapore three years ago and just recently returned back to the states. I'm now pursuing my Masters degree in Educational Technology and Library Science from the University of Texas A&M Commerce.
I have always loved to explore technology and have worked hard to incorporate it meaningfully into my classroom. I feel strongly that students engage more with activities that include technology elements because they were born into a world that centers around tech tools. They connect with concepts when they get to explore them hands on in an interactive format, much like the tools they use outside the classroom. I love learning alongside them to use the latest methods to teach common standards.
I come from a family of educators. Both my mother and aunt were teachers and inspired me to work with children. I love seeing a child's face light up when they explore a new concept or learn a new skill. Sharing my passion for education with my students keeps me motivated to create a learning environment where they come to school eager to learn something new.
